The following scholarships were administered by the Marshall Education Foundation.  The Foundation’s mission is to provide for the promotion of and funding for secondary and post-secondary school education in Marshall County, Tennessee.  The Foundation was chartered in 2002 and strives to provide scholarships, grants, and assistance to students and teachers in Marshall County.  

Brooks Grocery awards two scholarships annually to graduating seniors or student alumni of Forrest High School.  Pictured Left to Right are Dr. Tresha Grissom, Chairwoman of Marshall Education Foundation, and recipients, Sarah Elizabeth Woodward, and Jayden Coleman.  

The Lewisburg Rotary awarded three scholarships to Marshall County graduating seniors.  Dr. Tresha Grissom, Marshall Education Foundation Chairwoman and Rotary member, presents Kalyssa Adrianna Bills with the Scholarship for Forrest High School.  

The Marshall Education Foundation Founders scholarship was created to honor those who founded the Columbia State Lewisburg site and the Marshall Education Foundation.  This scholarship is awarded to two individuals from Marshall County to further their education at Columbia State Community College.  Michelle Nelson, Director of the Lewisburg Campus of Columbia State Community College, presents the scholarship to Lyric Patin, a nursing student at CSCC.  


 The Lewisburg Rotary awards three scholarships to Marshall County graduating seniors.  Pictured receiving the award for MCHS from Rotarian Phil George is Coco Allen.  The Lewisburg Rotary also awards the first annual Walter Bussart Memorial Scholarship to Dorian Haislip.   Pictured beside Dorian is Judge Lee Bussart, a Rotarian and daughter of the late Walter Bussart.  

The Kamron Hightower Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to two graduates of Marshall County High School, one to a football player and one to a student pursuing trade, vocational, or technical school.  Recipients pictured left to right are John Morgan Thomas and Lavonte Addison.  

The Tommy Hawkins Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate of Marshall County High School.  This year’s recipient is Caraline Hollingsworth.  


The Marshall Education Foundation Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually based on memorial contributions made to the foundation.  This year’s scholarship was funded by donations in memory of Edward Potts, VB Ramsey, and Glenda Milligan.  This year’s recipient is Julianna Hanson, a graduate of Marshall County High School.  

The Marshall Education Foundation Founders scholarship was created to honor those who founded the Columbia State Lewisburg site and the Marshall Education Foundation.  This scholarship is awarded to two individuals from Marshall County to further their education at Columbia State Community College.  Receiving this award is Marshall County High School Graduate, Heer Patel.  

The Eddie Wright Family Foundation Scholarship  is awarded each year to a graduate of Cornersville High School.  Pictured is CHS Guidance Counselor, Edna London, presenting the scholarship to this year’s recipient, Kaylee Ann Foster.  

The Lewisburg Rotary Club awards three scholarships to Marshall County graduating seniors.  Edna London, Guidance Counselor at Cornersville High School, presents this scholarship to CHS graduate, Mary Allison Davis.

  • Eddie M. Wright Family Foundation = One (1) scholarship at $500 (CHS)

  • Lewisburg Rotary Club = Three (3) scholarships at $1000 (CHS, FHS, and MCHS)

  • MEF Founders Scholarship = Two (2) scholarships at $1000 (anyone attending Columbia State)

  • MEF Memorial Scholarship = One (1) scholarship at $1000 (CHS, FHS, and MCHS)

  • Kamron Hightower Memorial Scholarship = Two (2) scholarships at $1000

Marshall Education Foundations Announces Recipients of 2020-2021 Teacher Grants

Lewisburg, TN— 03/02/2021 — The Marshall Education Foundation has announced the recipients of the 2020-2021 Teacher Grants.

“We are excited that the Marshall Education Foundation can assist teachers with projects for which they would not have funding otherwise,” said Matt Lewis, Secretary of the Marshall Education Foundation.

The foundation was able to award five teacher grants for the 2020-2021 academic year. These teacher grant funds will go toward projects that each teacher submitted for review by a foundation committee.

The recipient of the Linda Bussart Memorial Teacher Grant for 2020-2021 is Lorrie Clark from Forrest High School. The recipients of the First Commerce Bank Teacher Grants for 2020-2021 are Olivia Steely and Lane Worley both of Cornersville High School. The recipients of the Marshall Education Foundation Teacher Grants are Lee Perryman and Libby Stubblefield both of Forrest High School.

Through funding from donations, grants, endowments, and trusts, the Marshall Education Foundation facilitates or administers student scholarships, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Advisor, and Teacher Grants. 2019-2020 Scholarship Recipients Chosen

The Marshall Education Foundation is pleased to announce that the 2019-2020 scholarship recipients have been chosen for the Eddie M. Wright Family Foundation Scholarship, the Tommy Hawkins Memorial Scholarship, the Rex’s Food Land Scholarship, and the Marshall Education Foundation Scholarship.

Cornersville High School Senior Henlee Mitchell was awarded the Eddie M. Wright Family Foundation Scholarship. The scholarship is given in memory of Mr. Eddie Wright, a lifelong resident of Cornersville who cared greatly about the town as he was involved in many community and school events.

MCHS Senior Mitchell Ford was awarded the Tommy Hawkins Memorial Scholarship. Mr. Tommy Hawkins was the patriarch of Lewisburg Printing Company and gave generously of his time and resources to the people of Marshall County. Mr. Hawkins was a larger than life personality and a true friend to many. Congratulations to Mitchell on being awarded the scholarship. 

Scholarships funded by Rex's Foodland were presented to the following seniors during Honors Day on May 10 at Community High School, Jaley Vincent and Haylie Parker. Rex's Foodland is a long standing supporter of area schools and has given these scholarships for many years.

Scholarships funded by Rex's Foodland of Chapel Hill were also presented to Lauren Gillespie and Chad Ragsdale during Awards Night on May 14 at Forrest School. Rex's Foodland is a long standing supporter of the Chapel Hill schools and has given these scholarships for many years. 

The Marshall Education Foundation (MEF) presented two scholarships to deserving seniors from MCHS. The scholarships were funded by an anonymous donor and the winners were selected by the MEF Scholarship Committee. The deserving winners are Keshun Gentry and Judson McPherson. 

PSAT/SAT Coach Hired

The Marshall Education Foundation has recently hired an PSAT/SAT Coach to work with the Marshall County School system. 

Dr. Amy Harwell has been hired to provide study sessions for students at all high school locations that are interested in preparing for the PSAT/SAT examinations.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Karen Adams to the position of FAFSA Advisor. Mrs. Adams brings with her 40 years of education experience, including 36 years as a school counselor.
